Humans are making everything modern. Modern lifestyle, modern technology, modern science, modern problems, and so on. So why not modern yoga?

Real yoga is something very different; I'll talk about it later. In this blog, let us understand the modernisation of yoga.

Modern Yoga as Holistic Health

We all know the importance of a healthy mind and body. Lots of studies and research have concluded that our health affects our relationships, lifestyle, decision-making, etc.

We also know that to keep our bodies healthy, one should exercise regularly — walk, run, swim, go to the gym, play sports — and for a healthy mind, one must indulge in art, music, literature, and so on, right?

Modern yoga is nothing but a modern way of keeping our body and mind healthy, which is important, as we have discussed.

Evolution of Yoga Styles

Most of the different styles of yoga that are popular today are not very old; they all fall under modern yoga. They all consist of (plus-minus) postures, breath work, mindful exercises, purification techniques, dynamic movements, relaxation, and so on.

Modern yoga is also used as a complementary therapy. Most practices are very scientific and research-based.

Following any style of yoga correctly can significantly improve your physical and mental well-being, that is for sure.

I will talk about the different styles of yoga separately in detail in the coming blogs. This was my take on modern yoga.

Thank you for reading.
